Welcome to
Sage Diabetes

You’ve done what it takes to survive with T1D. Now it’s time to tend to you.
Living with Type 1 Diabetes can be exhausting— a constant emotional weight made worse by a messy healthcare system. Whether you were diagnosed yesterday or years ago, you deserve support for you, not just your blood sugar.

Which of these resonates with you right now?

I feel anxious and alone →
I feel tired and burnt out →
I’m ready to turn T1D into growth and deeper meaning →

Anxiety + Overwhelm

You’re doing everything you can—and it still feels like too much.

If you’re feeling scattered, constantly thinking, planning, calculating—if you’re emotionally frayed—you’re not alone.

We build practices for emotional safety, nervous system grounding, and softening the pressure.

Burn Out

You’ve been doing this for years—and the emotional fatigue is catching up.

You’ve mastered the math ratios and your CGM, but inside, there’s a part of you that feels like you’re just treading water. So much goes into a single day, and it’s hard to rest on a deep level.

This is a space to be seen and rest from”keeping it all together”. We’ll explore how a broken healthcare system and harmful cultural messaging silently contribute to fatigue, and create new patterns to fill your cup back up — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Ready for Growth

Your experience with T1D has shaped you—and you’re ready to alchemize it.

If you’re curious how chronic illness can be a beautiful portal to personal and collective transformation, this is the place to explore that.

You want to integrate your wisdom into something bigger, more meaningful.
To be broken open, not broken down, by T1D.

About Mandy Jones

Welcome! I’m Mandy — a chronic illness guide and the creator of Sage Diabetes, a space for adults with Type 1 Diabetes to tend to the emotional side of life with chronic illness.

I’ve lived with T1D for over a decade — and after experiencing anxiety, burnout, and frustration with our messy healthcare system — I began searching for richer ways to weather the ups and downs.

I sought out a Master’s in Psychology, which deepened my work with nervous system healing, parts work, and the emotional complexities of chronic illness — and affirmed what I’d already learned through lived experience: healing is never just physical.

Alongside my own healing, I’ve helped design patient-centered programs for diabetes non-profits, clinical centers, and startups — work that reiterated just how much is missing in our current model of care. Want to build something different with me?

Mandy has a very special understanding of what it’s like to live with chronic disease, especially type 1 diabetes. As a type 1 myself, I found her wise therapeutic skills to be such a gift.

It’s not just the nonjudgmental way she listened to me, it’s that she created a safe space for me to listen to myself at a deep level. She asked me gently probing questions that led me into my own inner wisdom.

I am so grateful for the passion she brings to the emotional well-being of people with type 1.

Through Mandy’s insightful retreat facilitation, I learned things I didn’t know about my mind and body and left the retreat refreshed for my next project. Her portfolio of teaching modes created an interactive and engaging four-hour virtual retreat.  Thank you, Mandy.

Beth

Mandy has a very genuine passion for helping people navigate what is often a very confusing and frustrating healthcare landscape…she is an outstanding listener.

In all of our interactions she was always focused and in the moment with me…Her ability to truly relate to each patient is one of her greatest skills. She has an inner sense of knowing where a person is coming from and how to best help them.

How We Work

At Sage Diabetes, we work with your whole self—because diabetes touches every part of your life.

The Sage Spiral™ framework integrates six layers:

  • Body — tending to nervous system states and our relationship to our bodies
  • Mind — supporting the parts of us that feel angry, sad, lonely, scared, and tired
  • Others — navigating relationships, boundaries, and support
  • Systems — unhooking from cultures of shame, perfectionism, and self-silencing
  • World — finding deeper purpose and impact through our diagnosis
  • Spirit — using this as a path to connect deeper with Life
We’ll draw from deep somatic, intuitive, imaginal, nervous system, narrative, and therapuetic art practices— tailored to your emotional season.

This layered framework is inspired by cyclical and integrative approaches to healing found in many Indigenous and ancestral traditions, offered with deep respect and gratitude.

This isn’t about insulin ratios, boluses, or A1C. It’s about reclaiming whole-person wellness.
Whether you’re overwhelmed, burnt out, or ready to evolve—Sage Diabetes is here to support your emotional and spiritual well-being with T1D.

Through 1:1 support, soulful practices, and savvy guidance, we help you shift from surviving to truly living.
