1:1 Support Sessions
Over the last decade, my journey with diabetes has led me to understand the importance of holistic, heart-centered support. Better carbohydrate counting can help but it doesn’t address the sleepless nights and the anxiety-ridden moments.
So often our internal dialogue can be clouded with shame-based messages of perfectionism. And the healthcare system is anything but caring. I know how lonely it can feel to leave the doctor’s office yet again, remembering we’re on our own for 99% of our diabetes journey.
Making sure we are tending to our hearts and speaking to ourselves with kindness is essential to surviving the marathon of chronic illness. We must tend to our whole experience, lovingly.
1:1 Support Sessions were created out of this need. They are a chance to get some extra support, and to use diabetes as an opportunity for self-healing. Together, we will build capacities for holding our center during the ups and downs of diabetes.
During our time together, we’ll use some of the following tools:
- Guided meditation and body scans
- Intention-setting
- Mindfulness practices
- Artistic expression
- Conversations with our inner child and inner critic(s)
- Identifying feelings and needs
- Non-violent communication
- Reframing perspectives
- Skills & tips for navigating the healthcare and insurance systems
- Boundary setting
- Worksheets to help you get organized and make empowered decisions
Sessions are non-judgmental, non-discriminatory, confidential, compassionate, LQBTQIA+ friendly, and gender-affirming.
